Nana's House for boysLast month we were greatly blessed with a donation that allows us to rent a house and even buy all the furniture we need for the boy’s home. It has been a big confirmation that we are on the right track and we hope to officially open the home in the late spring. There are so many children in great need of a place like Nana’s House. I found a young boy in the park by my house last month after our Sunday morning service. I asked him why he was sitting in the park alone. He told me his mother would not be home for a few days and that he was waiting in the park until our evening church service started. He had not eaten all day and had no water. I brought him home, fed him and made sure he was ok until the evening service and had a place to stay that night. We are working on getting him into Nana’s House because he is severely neglected and is the target of an older child we know that has been sexually abused. The older child is not a safe person. We are reaching out to him also but that has ended up being very legally complicated.
Other news We have been praying for a 15-passenger van for some time and there is a great possibility that will dream will come true soon. Keep praying, please. We celebrated three birthdays in Nana’s House this month and we have one more to do in a few weeks. Each child had a special time at their favorite restaurant and spent one-on-one time with the person of their choice. Some went to the movies and picked out a gift and others just went out to eat and spent the rest of the time shopping and at Starbucks. I have a list of girls that need braces and Theresa will be the first to get them this week.
We have renewed and updated Nana’s House website. We need partners who will sponsor one of Nana’s kids. Please visit the site and make a monthly commitment. Here is the link. In addition to the website we have a Facebook fan page that has the latest news. Please visit the page and “like” it. All of us who work at Nana’s House and almost all the children had a bout of the flu. We all spent most of January trying to get healthy. That is why updates and news have been slow.
Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. You are partnering with us every time you give and you are helping us save lives from abuse and poverty.
